  • Abstract:

In this paper basis of direct force method is developed and presented in a concise and step by step way. Though direct force method has no edge over direct stiffness method, yet it is of a great academic interest for the scholars working on matrix methods of analysis. There can be three ways of selection of redundants to analyze the indeterminate structures by force method. A structure may have all the external redundants or it may have all the internal redundants. Still there is third probability that it may have mixed redundants i.e., external as well as internal redundants. These three cases require separate formulations. This paper presents all the three formulations.

  • Abstract:

This paper presents a novel control method for shunt Active Power Filter (APF) based on the Nonlinear Auto Regressive with eXogenous neural network (NARX). The proposed series parallel NARX network is trained by using learning algorithm called static backpropagation algorithm for electric loads nonlinearity modelling. Then the well-trained series-parallel architecture NARX network is converted to parallel architecture NARX network and tested with different patterns. The algorithm of the instantaneous reactive power is integrated with the proposed NARX networks to analyze the predominant harmonics. Finally, the control reference signal of the shunt APF is designed. The proposed method is applied on an Electrical Submersible Pump (ESP) rotated by three-phase induction motor which is one of most widely used loads in petroleum industry field. The results show very good behavior of the NARX neural network in harmonic detection and mitigation.

As the NAVY moves forward with plans to become less dependent on fossil fuels and more dependent on hybrid electric drives and all-electric ships, being aware of the stability issues associated with direct current (DC)-DC and DC-alternating current (AC) power converters and understanding how to solve the issues that come with using them, are very important. The negative input impedance that is observed when using a buck converter servicing a constant power load (CPL) is one of the issues that needs to be understood. Understanding the stability issue caused by the negative input impedance and mitigating this instability by implementing the adaptive controller is focus of this work..

  • Abstract:

Thermal ablation is becoming most widely used techniques for treatment of benign and malignant tumors of different organs like the liver, lung, kidney and also the bone [1-5]. It is the best alternative for the candidates who cannot undergo the surgical resection. Ablation techniques have proven well even in case of treatment of solid tumors in organs such as breast, prostate, adrenal glands, pancreas and also the uterus [6-12]. Ablation followed by other techniques like chemotherapy and usage of nanoparticles in curing have proven to improve the treatment efficacy [13-19]. This paper reviews the advent and development of Microwave Ablation Technique. We provide an overview of physical and technical aspects of MWA. Microwave Ablation was first introduced in Far Eastern clinical practice in early 80's. In the initial stage it was having the issues of controllability of the emitted field, poor coagulation process [70]. With the time there have been a lot of improvements and technique has really grown well to tackle HCC.

  • Abstract:

Image segmentation is a very important and pre-processing step in image analysis. The conventional multilevel thresholding methods are efficient for bi-level thresholding because of its simplicity, robustness, less convergence time and accuracy. However, a mass of computational cost is needed and efficiency is broken down as an exhaustive search is utilized for finding the optimal thresholds, which results in application of evolutionary algorithm and swarm intelligence to obtain the optimal thresholds. The main aim of image segmentation is to segregate the foreground from background. For the first time this paper established a naturally inspired hybrid optimization based multilevel image thresholding for image segmentation by maximizing Shannon entropy or Fuzzy entropy. The proposed algorithm is tested on standard set of medical dental images andit is demonstrated that the proposed method shows better performance in objective function, structural similarity index, and misclassification error than state of art methods.

Hybrid Propulsion Technique is more suitable to applications requiring throattling and restart of long duration missions. Such application would include primary boost propulsion for vehicles of space launch, upper stages and satallite maneuvering systems. In hybrid techniques speed regulation is possible by regulating the supply of oxidizer. Higher fuel density can attained in case of hybrid propellant rocket system. In hybrid propellant Rocket system the fuel and oxidizer are stored separately, there is no chemical deterioration between fuel and oxidizer. Hybrid rockets are light weight when compared to liquid propellant and solid propellant rocket engines. Higher amount of theoretical specific impulse can be achieved compare to solid and liquid propellant engines. • Abstract:

Concrete is a highly compacted construction composite material made by mixing suitable quantities of coarse and fine aggregates, cement and water. Its strength is much greater than ordinary bricks used in construction due to its nature of cast. Concrete is used in beams as pillars to hold structure firm to the ground, and in up-floors for storey buildings. Glass is an indispensable solid waste in our environment. Its durability, none-biodegradability and noncorrosive characteristics places it permanently in our surroundings as waste and hence the need to find suitable ways of converting it into proper usage to clean our habitat. In the present paper, we investigate the suitability of waste glass as stabilization in concrete as coarse aggregate. We deduce from the experiment that concrete with 0 % replacement has the maximum average strength of 29.27 N/mm2 and highest density of 2591 kg/m3, followed by 50% partial replacement.....

The use of digital media for communication has grown significantly in the modern technological era, yet the simplicity of data sharing also carries a risk of invasion. The system itself may occasionally become compromised by different kinds of malware, which causes data loss. Therefore, a secure means of communication is required to convey sensitive data. One method for concealing data over a media file so that an eavesdropper cannot identify the presence of the concealed data is steganography. This document suggests the LSB (Least Significant Bit) technique, which employs Python to hide data across various media types, including text, image, and audio. • Abstract:

The main aim of this project is to design and implement RISC MIPS processor using VLSI technology. The project involves simulation and synthesis. The processor is designed with Verilog HDL, synthesized using XILINX-13.1. A Reduced Instruction Set compiler (RISC) is a microprocessor that had been designed to perform a small set of instructions, with the aim of increasing the overall speed of the processor. The idea of this project was to create a RISC MIPS processor as a building block in Verilog HDL. Each block is separated by pipeline to speed up the processor. High level of complexity is easier to implement the function in software. The objective of project is to increase the speed and reduce the power consumption. Single cycle execution method applied to complete one instruction through all stages.

  • Abstract:

The variational iteration method (VIM) is a method that is being increasingly used for solving non-linear equations. Recent applications have included using (VIM) for solving Burger's equations. Looking at methods for resolving these equations remains important because of the potential applications to real-world scenarios, and this can be demonstrated through the examples provided in this paper. Historically, issues with numerical methods for resolving measurements of turbulence and flow through viscous fluids have been problematic due to rounding issues, and variational iteration is being used by many mathematicians as a solution. This paper outlines this viewpoint and provides examples of its successful application to Burger's equations.

  • Abstract:

This paper presents the optimization of proportional integral derivative (PID) gain parameters through both single and multi objective Hybrid Genetic Differential Evolution (HGDE) technique for automatic generation control scheme. The controls are implemented for 0.1 load disturbance in area1only and computed with sum of absolute value of ith area control error at time t as objective functions. While employing multi objective HGDE optimization techniques, best compromise solution of the corresponding PID parameters are obtained based on fuzzy membership function assignment technique. Furthermore to show the superiority of the suggested method comparison analysis is done with GA-PID and DE-PID optimizing techniques and according the obtained result HGDE is getting better in achieving lesser settling time, undershoot and overshoot.

  • Abstract:

It is very common to find educational institutions in rural India where there are no equipments available for performing academic experiments. This problem can be mitigated with the help of Virtual Reality. We have used Google Cardboard as the Head Mounted Display and Leap Motion for interacting with the application. The cost of these devices is low so, we have succeeded in creating a virtual laboratory at a cost which is less than the cost of setting up and maintaining a real laboratory. Although it has been developed at low cost, it has a few drawbacks. Using the application requires large amount of practice and prolonged usage can lead to nausea and disorientation. VR is still in the early stages, but it has huge potential. This application can be further expanded to include a wide range of laboratories like Chemistry and Mechanics. If this low cost solution can be implemented in schools and colleges, it will provide facilities to students and save a huge amount of money for institutions. Effective implementation of such a solution will improve the quality of practical education to a great extent. With further improvements in VR hardware, the problems of accuracy, portability and VR sickness can be solved.

The kinetics of thermo-oxidative degradation of polypropylene recycled (PP rec.) was investigated using thermogravimetric (TG) analysis in air atmosphere. An empirical methodology was developed and it is the result of isoconversional methods (Kissinger-Akahira-Sunose and Ozawa-Flynn-Wall methods) combined with Coats-Redfern method, one-sample t test and IKP method. It was observed that the kinetic mechanism of the PP rec. degradation is dependent of the heating rate used. In lower heating rates, the diffusion mechanism is ruling and Di-type equations can be used. Otherwise, in higher heating ratesthe reaction rate is proportional to concentration of fraction remaining of reactant(s) raised to a power and Fi-type equations becomes as important as Di-type equations..........

This paper focuses on the review of control methods for spherical tank system and tuning of non-linear PI / PID controllers in real time. The control of liquid level in spherical tank is complicated with conventional controllers due to variation in the area of transverse section of the tank. Thus the proposed non-linear PI and PID controllers are developed and compared with the conventional PI and PID controllers presented in the literature for spherical tank system. The proposed controllers are tuned based on Cohen Coon tuning method from the open loop response of the experimental setup of spherical tank in real time. The results of the proposed control methods are presented and compared with the conventional PI and PID controllers. The performance of the proposed control methods are evaluated with time domain specifications. The proposed non-linear PI and PID controller provides better response than the conventional PI and PID controllers for the spherical tank system.

The increase in the number of urban population caused by births and urbanization has increased economic activity and citizen mobility. This has led to an increase in the demand for transportation services. The increasing number of requests for transportation services has not been matched by the provision of adequate transportation services. Cities with a population of more than 1 million are advised to have mass public transport, but in reality this has not been implemented. More than 10 cities in Indonesia with a population of over 1 million do not have urban mass public transport, especially those based on railways. Research is carried out in 3 stages. First, literature and comparative studies were carried out in 20 countries. Secondly, an important factor in public transportation based on railways was analyzed using the Analytical Hierarchie Process (AHP) method to obtain the order of important factors according to their importance. The third stage was validated with discussions at the Jakarta City Transportation Council (DTKJ) and at the City Development Planning Agency (Bappeko) Surabaya. Furthermore, the readiness formula / model obtained, applied to the city chosen to see the readiness level of the city and the results accordingly.

  • Abstract:

Support vector machines (SVMs) have been around for decades, they have been used for a number of classification tasks. They actually have a very strong theory behind them, which make it relatively easy to choose the best hyper-parameters. The kernel trick makes it easier for SVMs to implicitly classify in higher dimensional space, making it possible to work with nonlinearly separable datasets. On the other hand, Convolutional Neural Networks (CNNs) have gained important attention in recent years for their high performance in image classification problems with high number of categories. The automatic feature extraction of convolutional layer and the dimensionality reduction of the pooling layer make CNN gain high predictive power on testing data. In this work both models are briefly discussed and implemented on a binary classification problem from the EMIST character.......

  • Abstract:

With oncologists relying increasingly on low-dose CT scans to detect lung cancer, our study proposes a machine learning approach for early detection of Lung Cancer. While existing algorithms in the medical imaging domain focus on segmentation and diagnosis through traditional image processing techniques, we approach the problem by using Deep Learning technique called Convolutional Neural Networks. Using Google Cloud Engine for Machine Learning for training data overcomes the problems encountered while handling large scale data. The traditional methods take a lot of time before the doctor can finally tell the patient the result which in certain cases proves to be fatal. Our approach aims to provide the result of the tests at a much faster speed, thereby bringing up the survival rate of those that have lung cancer and decrease the mortality rate of Lung Cancer related deaths.

  • Abstract:

This study investigates the performance (BTE and BSEC) and emissions (CO, HC, NOx and smoke) of biodiesel-diesel blends of B20, B50 and B100 mixed with methanol and ethanol at 5% and 10% v/v, and 1% 2- ethylhexyl nitrate (EHN). The blends were tested under two conditions (without EGR and with EGR), on a twin-cylinder HATZ 2G40 light-duty direct injection (DI) diesel engine at 3000 rpm at different load conditions (low load: 20%, medium load: 50%, and high load: 80%). Although methanol and ethanol helped reduce the biodiesel's viscosity, increasing the amount of methanol and ethanol also decreased the biodiesel's cetane number (CN). Therefore, to overcome this issue, the use of an additive EHN was used as a CN improver to reduce ignition delay and soot formation. The performance and emission results with blends of ethanol and methanol in biodiesel-diesel-EHN were compared to that of base fuels (B0, B20, B50 and B100).

Nowadays the regional gaps between the metropolitan area and the local areas in Japan have expanded. We can also guess the importance of this problem from the situation which ―Headquarters for Overcoming Population Decline and Vitalizing Local Economy‖ has been established in the Cabinet and various efforts for that have been made. Gini coefficients have often been used when the regional gaps are analyzed but, in many cases, the Gini coefficients focus on incomes of people. Then we have developed a new model of Gini coefficients which focuses on the number of public facilities to analyze the regional gaps from the viewpoint of public infrastructure. Thus it has turned out to be no regional gap from the viewpoint of public infrastructure around principal stations as a result of the analysis conducted on the basis of the data concerning the number of public facilities around principal stations of 47 prefectures by using the model

Entrepreneurs are innovators, willing to take risks and generate new ideas to create unique and potentially profitable solutions to modern-day problems. Entrepreneurship is not so much a skill as a habitual state of mind. When entrepreneurship describes activities within a firm or large organization, it is referred to as intrapreneurship and may include corporate venturing, when large entities spin off organizations.Entrepreneurship employs what Schumpeter called the gale of creative destruction to replace wholly or partly inferior innovations across markets and industries. This destruction simultaneously creates new products and new business models. Entrepreneurship ranges in scale from solo projects (even involving the parttime entrepreneur) to major undertakings that create many job opportunities.Entrepreneurial activities can be incremental or disruptive. Incremental innovations are a number of small changes that transform process flows while disruptive innovations are entirely new approaches

The characteristics of the materials that are used for dental implants are critical for the success of the implant process. Surface energies of the materials that are used for implant surgery are especially important for osseointegration of the implant and to prevent implant failure. In this study, we performed a theoretical analysis of the surface energies of two prominent materials. The surface energies of anatase TiO2 (111) and ZrO2 (111) were calculated with General Utility Lattice Program (GULP). Through analysis of surface energy values, usage of TiO2 (111) and ZrO2 (111) in dental implants is discussed in detail. Obtained theoretical results show that surface energy of TiO2 (111) is greater than the surface energy of ZrO2 (111) which is consistent with the literature.

Cloud computing is the recently developing innovation. Every association needs to interface with the cloud computing condition.A survey on distinctive hybrid cloud organization models and cloud benefit models accessible in the field of cloud computing is discussed. An industry pattern has been noted where the utilization of hybrid cloud design can be utilized which supports, the upcoming industry challenges by giving the effective method for putting away their information in the cloud condition by utilizing the mix of both public and private cloud, so that it gives the office to store delicate information on private cloud and less basic information on to public cloud where large storing can be made. Hybrid cloud is particularly profitable for dynamic or extremely adjustable workloads. This paper portrays the overview, service model, traits, supplier storage and issues of cloud computing

The arrival of the coronavirus in India, with its third month in India, forced many. The coronavirus has made many changes in the country, whether it is new health department policies and guidelines or educational material for the general public. The tragic situation has created a worldwide panic, especially in Italy and China, due to COVID-19, and India is not excluded. This has contributed to a shortage of important goods, including hand sanitizers and facemasks. Regardless of the real need, individuals choose to purchase, select and store the best available masks for themselves, leaving a massive shortage of N-95 and surgical masks for health care professionals on the market. Despite the number of health care providers and the general public advising on the use of masks, the dismay among the latter does not seem to stop. Data has been taken from various government websites, WHO int., papers, studies, released and unpublished data for the writing of this review article. Several instructions and teaching.

  • Abstract:

Visual speech information plays an important role in lipreading under noisy conditions or for listeners with a hearing impairment. In this paper, we present local spatiotemporal de-scriptors to represent and recognize spoken isolated phrases based solely on visual input. Spatiotemporal local binary patterns extracted from mouth regions are used for describing isolated phrase sequences. In our experiments with 817 sequences from ten phrases and 20 speakers, promising accuracies of 62% and 70% were obtained in speaker- independent and speaker-dependent recognition, respectively. In comparison with other methods on AVLetters database, the accuracy, 62.8%, of our method clearly outperforms the others. Analysis of the confusion matrix for 26 English letters shows the good clustering characteristics of visemes for the proposed....
