  • Abstract:

The study conducted by Rompicharla mandal, Guntur district. Dental fluorosis is a developmental disturbance of dental enamel, caused by successive exposures to high concentrations of fluoride during tooth development, leading to enamel with lower mineral content and increased porosity. The severity of dental fluorosis depends on when and for how long the overexposure to fluoride occurs, the individual response, weight, degree of physical activity, nutritional factors and bone growth. The risk period for esthetic changes in permanent teeth is between 20 and 30 months of age. The recommended level for daily fluoride intake is 0.05 - 0.07 mg F/Kg/day, which is considered of great help in preventing dental caries, acting in re-mineralization. A daily intake above this safe level leads to an increased risk of dental fluorosis. Currently recommended procedures for diagnosis of fluorosis should discriminate between symmetrical.....

  • Abstract:

As the population is increasing rapidly, Energy demands also needs to be fulfilled efficiently, for that supervision and monitoring of power system in various dynamic events have to be done precisely, Such tasks are normally done by Supervisory control and Data Acquisition System(SCADA) and Phasor Measurement Unit(PMU) also. PMU is best among all in terms of accuracy and time delaying as it uses Global Positioning System for synchronization with other PMU's, and strong phasor estimation algorithm with less number of samples giving accurate and real time tracking of power system in normal events as well as dynamic events. This paper evaluates Modified Least square method for various dynamic events as per IEEE standard of synchrophasor measurement. Morever dynamic events taken here are not model based signals, in earlier literatures model based signals were used, that problem is eliminated in this paper..

  • Abstract:

According to the IMF (International Monetary Fund) , Asian economic growth is driving the world's economy, accounting for more than 60% of the global economy. The Asian economy also accounted for more than 70% of the world's increased energy demand from 2000 to 2017. According to WEO 2018 (World Energy Outlook 2018), issued by the IEA, Asia will account for 46% of total global energy demand in 2040. In a new policy scenario (NPS), even in 2040, 74% of energy demandwill rely on fossil resources, of which 34% will be natural gas. A key element of energy security in natural gas importing countries is the diversification of importing partners. While natural gas diversification in Asia is advancing at a rapid pace, the diversity of natural gas importers has decreased in recent years in some European countries. The 2015 Paris Agreement affected countries using natural gas in many ways. Because of environmental measures taken in some European countries, renewable energy has already becoming cheaper than natural gas in electricity market.........

The present work is focused on the numerical solution of unsteady two dimensional accelerating laminar boundary layer flow and heat transfer of an incompressible fluid over a moving wedge in the presence of variable viscosity. The system of partial differential equations governing the flow and reduced to a system of non-linear ordinary differential equations by using similarity transformations, then solved numerically by an implicit finite difference scheme along with quasilinearization technique. The obtained numerical results are presented graphically in terms of velocity, temperature, as well as, for the skin friction and local nusselt number for several values of variable viscosity parameter ( ) and Falkner-Skan parameter (m) along with Prandtl number(Pr)..

  • Abstract:

The purpose of this project is to design and produce a miniature polymer granule extruder which can 3D print just like a filament 3D printer with the same rate and quality. This project went through three different stages. The first stage involved researching similar projects and different design ideas for the extruder. The second stage consisted of designing a miniature polymer granule extruder using CAD software, in particular SolidWorks, and then testing the design on a SolidWorks simulation before producing the extruder. During the final stage, the practical stage, a prototype of the extruder was produced and then attached to the 3D desktop printer to run tests on two materials: sugar and high-density polyethene (HDPE). A successful miniature polymer granule should work as well as a filament 3D printer.

  • Abstract:

Unlike other water river basins in Morocco, Oum Er-Rbia basin is extensively used to meet both local and regional water demands. Agricultural activities carried out within the basin account for 21% of the national agricultural added value. Moreover, an additional 181 Mm3/year is transferred to neighboring basins, namely Tensift and Bouregreg to come up with their water shortages. Besides, the basin surface water generates 70% of national hydropower. Extensive use of both groundwater and surface water resources of this basin conjugated with dry and wet years sequences have consequently compromised its role in securing the regional water balance. In this work, statistical downscaling using SDSM was applied to predict future climate, particularly temperature and precipitation, at the.....

  • Abstract:

Noise induced hearing loss (NIHL) is becoming a common occupational problem that affects thousands of workers in Nigerian oil and gas industries. NIHL is a serious consequence of exposure to high noise levels (>85dBA). In this study, a comprehensive approach, including noise survey, dosimetry and audiometry, was employed to evaluate noise levels and hearing thresholds of workers in a typical oil and gas industrial plant. The results obtained revealed a direct relationship between noise intensity and hearing loss among workers. Workers whose noise levels were above the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) exposure limit of 90dBA were more prone to risk of hearing loss than workers whose noise levels were below the limit. Hearing fit test data further suggest that hearing protection devices (HPDs) and human factors such as physiology and skill in using HPDs, contribute....

Wireless communication is one of the most popular areas in the communication field today. Development of next generation wireless networks depends on suitable wireless and access techniques. These techniques needs to provide high data rates and should maintain a certain level of robustness against errors. There are numerous challenges to implement these systems. These problems include propagation effects in particular multipath propagation, capacity limits due to spectral availability, the need for asynchronous access, Intersymbol Interference (ISI). Orthogonal Frequency-Division Multiplexing (OFDM) effectively mitigates intersymbol interference caused by the delay spread of wireless channels. Therefore, it has been used in many wireless systems and adopted.....

  • Abstract:

The decline in dental Fluorosis prevalence and incidence in the last two decades is considered to be largely due to the widespread use of fluoride. However, the prevalence of dental fluorosis has increased simultaneously. The increase is in the mild and very mild forms of fluorosis, both in fluoridated and in non fluoridated areas. A large amount of epidemiological data demonstrates that the occurrence of dental fluorosis is associated with excessive fluoride intake throughout the period of tooth development. Multiple sources of fluoride intake have been identified. This review describes the condition and summarizes the recent literature on the risk factors for dental fluorosis. Four major risk factors have been consistently identified: use of fluoridated drinking water, fluoride supplements, fluoride dentifrice and infant formulas. In addition, some manufactured children foods and drinks may also be important contributors to total daily fluoride intake..

Communication is used to facilitate the tuning of adaptive controller for the change of load. The method will ensure in accurate reactive power sharing even the communication is interrupted if the load does not change during this time. If the load change while the communication is interrupted, the accurate sharing is reduced, but the proposed method is better than the conventional droop control method. • Abstract:

The limitations of the electronic routers results in the need of optical cloud networks. The real issue engaged with the optical cloud system is the switch/router structure which can perform exchanging operations efficiently at the high information rates. These can be named 'all'- optical cloud or photonic switches. On the whole optical cloud mode, the propagation and the handling of information is thought to be in optical cloud domain. As of now, optical cloud computing switch is not innovatively practical because of the absence of optical cloud RAMs. As an alternative option data stays in the optical cloud domain without having any O/E and E/O transformation at the intermediate nodes, yet control task is carried out in electronic domain. • Abstract:

This paper presents the dynamic analysis of a novel bio-inspired external breast prosthesis for cases of complete mastectomy in order to address the problem of the growing number of women diagnosed with breast cancer in Mexico who are candidates for a complete mastectomy. The designed prosthesis takes into account the morphology of a real breast as for its internal structure to obtain authentic mobility and feel. A finite element model was developed and a dynamic analysis was conducted (modal and harmonic) in the frequency range of 0 to 6 Hz. In addition to the previous vibration modes, the following vibration modes were obtained that have not yet been reported in the literature within the frequency range of 6 to 12 Hz. The results obtained in the dynamic analysis are consistent with those of a real breast: there were smooth contours and there was natural mobility in the prosthesis designed. In addition, small deformation displacement magnitudes are present when the prosthesis was under vibration conditions, which does not affect its functionality. This will prevent reaching conditions of resonance (critical deformations) during use that can affect the natural behavior of the prosthesis or damage its structure..

  • Abstract:

The appliance of nanotechnology in concrete has added to the efforts to improve its properties. Nano materials, by virtue of their very small particle size can affect the concrete properties by changing the microstructure. This paper concerns with the use of nano silica to advance the compressive strength of concrete. An experimental investigation has been carried out by replacing the cement with nano silica of 0.4%, 0.8% and 1.2%. The tests conducted on it show a significant increase in early-age compressive strength & a small increase in the overall compressive strength of concrete. The strength increase was observed with the increase in the percentage of nano silica.

Spillover of hazardous materials from transport pipelines can lead to catastrophic events with serious and dangerous environmental impact, potential fire events and human fatalities. The problem is more serious for large pipelines when the construction material is under environmental corrosion conditions, as in the petroleum and gas industries. In this way, predictive models can provide a suitable framework for risk evaluation, maintenance policies and substitution procedure design that should be oriented to reduce increased hazards, and also finding and introducing methods which help in Inspection and Maintenance of oil and gas pipelines seem mandatory. • Abstract:

Future wireless systems will be characterized by a large range of possible uses cases. This requires a flexible allocation of the available time-frequency resources, which is difficult in conventional Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM). Thus, modifications of OFDM, such as windowing or filtering, become necessary. Alternatively, we can employ a different modulation scheme, such as Filter Bank Multi-Carrier (FBMC). In this paper, a unifying framework, discussion and performance evaluation of FBMC is provided and compared it to OFDM based schemes. Our investigations are not only based on simulations, but are substantiated by real-world test-bed measurements and trials, where we show that multiple antennas and channel estimation, two of the main challenges associated with FBMC, can be efficiently dealt with. Additionally, we derive closed-form solutions for the signal-to-interference (SIR) ratio in doubly-selective channels and show that in many practical cases, one-tap equalizers are sufficient.

Colour is such a vital and vibrant ingredient of our existence that is difficult to imagine what life would be like without it. Dyeing is a process of colouring materials such as textile fibers, so that the colouring matter becomes an integral part of the fibre. Dyes or dyestuffs are soluble compounds that can be either absorbed and retained by the fibre or chemically combined with it. Dyes are generally fast that is, they retain their colour in the fibre throughout the textile-making process and under exposure to normal wear, including sunlight, water, and detergent washing. Pigments are insoluble colouring compounds. Millions of workers are not aware of the proper working condition of the units, healthcare and safety practices. So, they work in an atmosphere where they have to work continuously with dyes and chemicals for long time and negligent towards wearing protective equipment. If any kind of problemsoccur....

In this present study, Lysiloma Latisiliquum (LL) seed powder is chosen as the adsorbent for removal of Methylene Blue (MB). Studies were conducted in Batch Mode process for various experimental conditions such as contact time, initial dye concentration, pH, adsorbent dosage and temperature to determine the potentiality and efficiency of the adsorbent for removal of MB from aqueous solutions. Consequently, the experimental data obtained was analyzed using the adsorption isotherms and kinetic models. The adsorption process is found to be optimum at pH of 6 for an equilibrium time of 50 mins with an adsorbent dosage of 20g/lit. Based on regression coefficient, adsorption of MB onto LL seed powder followed Pseudo-Second-Order kinetics. The experimental data obtained fitted well with Langmuir isotherm model and Freundlich isotherm model. The maximum adsorption capacity was found to be 20.703 mg/g..

  • Abstract:

The awareness for the need to reduce the over exploitation of natural resources has been increased in recent days among the general public as well as among engineers. Theneed for the sustainable materials development in the construction industry can be met by implementing alternate source of raw materials in the production of the construction materials. The use of waste as an alternate material in the brick production not only enhances sustainable development but also will have a great positive impact in the environment by reducing the need for waste disposal. The waste materials used in this study are fly ash and phosphogypsum, obtained from power plants and phosphate fertilizer industries respectively. Along with fly ash and phosphogypsum, the Sewage Treatment Plant (STP)....

  • Abstract:

Based on the water quality data observed at 15 sampling sections in Balihe Lake in Oct. 2017, the water quality status in the lake was evaluated and analyzed with single factor water quality index and a comprehensive water quality index of TP (total phosphorus), TN (total nitrogen), NH3-N (ammonia nitrogen) and DO (dissolved oxygen). The results of single factor water quality index showed that the water quality in Balihe Lake was polluted by TN and TP, and belonged to V or even poor V class of "Environmental Quality Standards for Surface Water (GB 3838-2002)". Similar conclusion can be drawn with the calculated comprehensive water quality index which indicated that the water quality in the lake was still a long way from the target level. • Abstract:

New physically based 3-D, fixed d.o.f., theories which enable to analyze cases with general loading and boundary conditions efficiently are proposed. Here the aim is to study the effects of an arbitrary choice of through-thickness representation of kinematic/stress variables and of zig-zag functions. The same trial functions and expansion order of analytical solutions are assumed to assess theories under the same conditions. Comparisons are carried out with exact and/or 3-D FEA solutions. Their computational burden is still comparable to that of classical plate models. The results show that whenever coefficients of representation are recalculated across the thickness by enforcing the fulfillment of all constraints prescribed by the elasticity theory, the choice of the representation form and of zig-zag functions is immaterial. In this way, a high order of generalization is allowed because the.....

In this paper a new approach of designing the Sliding Mode Controller (SMC) for large scale discrete time systems is attempted. The SMC is designed via a new low order optimized model for a given dynamic system. In the proposed optimization method, the numerator coefficients are obtained using Interpolation criteria while the denominator polynomial is obtained by using, one of the stability preserving methods, the Routh method. An optimized reduced order model is derived with minimum ISE. Further, it has been observed that the sliding mode control designed for the dynamic system improves the performance of the controlled system.....

The influence of consortia of dairy lactic acid bacteria, acetic acid bacteria, propionibacteria and lactosefermenting yeast on the growth of indigenous lactobacilli isolated from feces of healthy people and probiotic preparations was studied. The effect of lactic acid bacteria on lacto- and bifidoflora depends on the degree of their antagonistic activity. Bacteriocins-producing lactic acid bacteria show antagonism against indigenous lactic microflora. Lactose-fermenting yeast and acetic acid bacteria stimulated growth of indigenous lactic acid bacteria. Inhibitory effect of lactic acid bacteria and their consortia with yeast, propionibacteria and acetic acid bacteria on Bifidobacterium bifidum can be reduced or completely eliminated up to growth stimulation by introducing into the culture medium a prebiotic additive in the form of wheat bran..

Most of the high computing applications today use ADC (Analog to Digital converters) to convert the transmitted information. While converting a data from A-to-D or D-to-A creates multiple problems when signals are represents in digital. This paper presents a review of the most popular types of Analog to Digital converters like, direct conversion (Flash) ADC, pipelined ADC, successive-approximation resister (SAR) ADC, and sigma delta ADC. In the conversion process some parameters like resolution, conversion rate, quantization error, signal to noise ratio (SNR), spurious-free dynamic range (SFDR), dynamic range (DR) and effective number of bits (ENOB). The performance of the ADC is measured by differential Non-linearity error (DNL), Integrated Non linearity error (INL) and quantization error which are also defined. The main focus here is to compare between different types of ADC.

This research article explores the qualitative issue of modelling in Energy Storage system with Renewable Power Generation for opting grid which provide the bulk power to industrial consumers as well as domestic load i.e. hilly and desert area. Objective of this research work is developing a model in MATLAB environment for feasibility assessment of the Energy Storage System integrated with Wind-Solar component operation which is helpful to develop a practical model. This integrated model uses statistical values to simulate power in utility grid. The utility grid load requirement is flexible so power interchange with grid is monitor by system controller. The load profile and control techniques of electric grid must be enhancing the quality of power. The proposed work is capable to solve the problem where conventional energy source is difficult to provide the power to consumer and also help in the green energy generation to country.

As concrete is weak in tension and has brittle character. The concept of using fibres to improve the characteristics of construction materials is very old. Use of continuous reinforcement in concrete (reinforced concrete) increase strength and ductility, but requires careful placement and skilled labour. Alternatively introduction to fibres in discrete form in plane and reinforced concrete may provide better solution. When concrete cracks, and randomly oriented fibres start functioning, arrest cracks formation and propagation, and thus improve strength and ductility. In the present work the tensile and compressive properties of jute fibre can be known. The problem of high rate of absorption of jute fibre can be reduced by soaking jute in water for 24 hours and drying it for 30 minutes Moreover the fibres being natural in origin is ecologically sustainable and can bring down the global carbon footprint quiet effectively. This study aimed at analysing the variation in strength of jute fibre reinforced...

  • Abstract:

As power system is highly nonlinear in nature, its operating point changes continuously. So, the system performance is very poor, which affect the real and reactive power. Changes in real power mainly affect the system frequency and changes in reactive power mainly depend on changes in voltage magnitude. Thus, real and reactive powers can be controlled separately. The Load Frequency Control (LFC) controls the real power and the Automatic Voltage Regulator (AVR) regulates the voltage magnitude and hence the reactive power. Load Frequency Control (LFC) of interconnected system is defined as the regulation of power output of generators. In general the fixed gain controllers are designed at nominal operating conditions and fail to provide best control performance over a wide range of operating conditions. So, to keep system performance near its optimum, it is desirable to track the operating conditions and use updated parameters to compute the control. In this project work a new method of finding stabilizing PID controllers has been proposed for LFC control system loop that is determined using "Boundary Locus Method"..

Over the years, the development of the logic on the chip is increased. To sustain and drive the logic flow, various techniques and SRAM cell designs have been implemented. The basic element of memory design is 6T SRAM cell. But while dealing with this 6T SRAM cell there are some issues with the parametric analysis on the performance of the cell. This paper presents an innovative design idea of new 8T RAM cell with various parametric analysis. The proposed cell is compared with the standard cell in terms of different parameters such as area, speed and power consumption along with the loading effect with the increase in load capacitance on the cell. The structure is designed with CMOS 45 nm Technology with BSIM 4 MOS modelling using Microwind 3.5 software tool....

  • Abstract:

Innumerable high rise building has been constructed all over the world and the number is increasing day by day. This is not only due to concerned over high density of population in the cities, commercial zones and space saving but also to establish land marks. As the seismic load acting on a structure is a function of the self-weight of the structure these structures are made comparatively light and flexible which have relatively low natural damping, and thus the structures become more vibration prone under wind and earthquake loading. To ensure the functional performance of tall buildings, various design modifications are possible, ranging from alternative structural systems to the utilization of passive and active control devices. This paper presents an overview of state-of-the-art measures.....

  • Abstract:

Internet has become essential part of our daily lives and its usage with standard quality of experience (QoE) is highly demanding. To ensure this, network operators continuously monitor their systems performance from operator as well as user's perspective. However, user's QoE and their input is highly important to understand the strength and weakness of network operators. In this work, we aim to reduce/understand the gap between user's perspective of network performance versus the performance of network from operator's perspective. As a case study, MUET's Internet service has been taken into consideration to find the parameters that lead to high level of satisfaction from user's perspective.

  • Abstract:

The improvement in gas turbine power plants by integrating a mechanical chiller to it for cooling the inlet air is the prime objective of this study. The bucket cooling method adopted in this study to cool the turbine buckets has been chosen as film cooling. The selected input parameters have been varied to analyze the power plant output and efficiency at varying conditions and then select the best alternative which will help the design engineers. The integration of mechanical chiller significantly augments the plant output and efficiency. This improvement is more pronounced in hot and humid climates. It was observed that as the compressor inlet temperature is reduced the bucket coolant mass flow rate decreases and the mass of fuel energy input increases. The increase..
