  • Analyze and Detect Packet Loss for Data Transmission in WSN
    Miriam Lakde, Prof. Vaibhav Deshpande
    [Abstract] [PDF] [Cite]
  • Abstract:

An emerging technology is Wireless Sensor Network where sensors are deployed at extreme geographical locations where human intervention is not possible. The data transferred through the sensor nodes are majorly used in crucial decision making process. Since WSN is a wireless infrastructure it tempts the attackers to tamper/misuse the data. Privacy-preserving routing is important for some ad hoc networks that require stronger privacy protection. Hence a routing protocol to achieve total unobservability by anonymous key establishment using secret session keys and group signature is used. The unobservable routing protocol is divided into two main phases. First phases define an anonymous key establishment process to construct secret session keys. Second phase consist of unobservable route discovery process to find appropriate as well as secure route to the destination. A node establishes a key with its direct neighbour and uses the same key to encrypt the packet before transferring.

  • Abstract:

Moment resisting frames are commonly used as the dominant mode of lateral resisting system in seismic regions for a long time. The poor performance of Ordinary Moment Resisting Frame (OMRF) in past earthquakes suggested special design and detailing to warrant a ductile behavior in seismic zones of high earthquake (zone III, IV & V). Thus when a large earthquake occurs, Special Moment Resisting Frame (SMRF) which is specially detailed with a response reduction factor, R = 5 is expected to have superior ductility. The response reduction factor of 5 in SMRF reduces the design base shear and in such a case these building rely greatly on their ductile performance. To ensure ductile performance...........

  • Abstract:

The architectures of Artificial Neural Networks (ANN) are based on the problem domain and it is applied during the "training phase‟ of sample data and used to infer results for the remaining data in the testing phase. Normally, the architecture consist of three layers as input, hidden, output layers with the number of nodes in the input layer as number of known values on hand and the number of nodes as result to be computed out of the values of input nodes and hidden nodes as the output layer. The number of nodes in the hidden layer is heuristically decided so that the optimum value is obtained with reasonable number of iterations with other parameters with its default values.........

    [Abstract] [PDF] [Cite]
  • Abstract:

Nonlinearity naturally arises in a true, rigorous mathematical formulation of physical problems. One of the most common nonlinearity is the material nonlinearity where the stress-strain response behaves nonlinearly. The main objective of this paper is to predict the material nonlinearity with the use of constitutive material model. To this end, the specimen is modeled with the eight nodded solid elements. One end of the specimen is fixed while the prescribed displacement is specified at the other end. The Chaboche model parameters are fitted first by matching the experimental stress-strain curve [4] with the finite element simulations. After that the response of the specimen is predicted when subjected to different displacement amplitudes i.e. completely reversed loading, cyclic tension loading and fluctuating ramp loading

  • Abstract:

Steganography is one of the important fields of information security that depend on hiding secret information in a cover media (video, image, audio, text) such that un authorized person fails to realize its existence. One of the lossless data compression techniques which are used for a given file that contains many redundant data is run length encoding (RLE). Sometimes the RLE output will be expanded rather than compressed, and this is the main problem of RLE. In this paper we will use a new coding method such that its output will be contains sequence of ones with few zeros, so modified RLE that we proposed in this paper will be suitable for compression, finally we employ the modified RLE output for stenography purpose that based on Unicode and non-printed characters to hide the secret information in an Arabic text.

  • Abstract:

The effect of hydrodynamics on the riser reactor performance was studied. The simulation was carried out using COMSOL Multiphysics software. The simulation results showed that reaction rate increased with increase in temperature. The results also showed that an increase in pressure leads to an increases in the velocity of the riser reactor. A maximum on gasoline yield appears when the gas oil inlet temperature is 600K, the catalyst inlet temperature is 1100K and the steam inlet temperature is 400K making gasoline yield between 52% to 55%. A minimum on Coke yield appears when the gas oil inlet temperature is 300K, the catalyst inlet temperature is 800K and the steam inlet temperature is 200K making coke yield between 1% to 2%.

  • Abstract:

Scale deposition is one of the most serious oil field problems that affect water injection systems adversely, when two incompatible waters are involved. Two waters are incompatible if they interact chemically and precipitate minerals when mixed. Typical examples are sea water, with high concentration of sulfate ion and formation waters, with high concentrations of calcium, barium, and strontium ions. Mixing of these waters, therefore, could cause precipitation of calcium sulfate, barium sulfate and/or strontium sulfate. This study was conducted to determine conditions for scientist and oil field Engineers to predict scale formation in oil wells............

Phase change materials although attaractive option for thermal storage applications its main drawback is the slow thermal response during charging and discharging processes due to their low thermal conductivity. The present study validates a model developed by the authors some years ago on radial fins as a method to meliorate the thermal performance of PCM in horizontal storage system. The developed model for the radial finned tube is based on pure conduction, the enthalpy approach and was discretized by the finite difference method. Experiments were realized specifically to validate the model and its numerical predictions.

  • Abstract:

According to the fact that there is no renewing of Indonesia Highway Capacity Manual (IHCM) for over 17 years, while in the same way, traffic characteristics has significantly changed, leads the research to know the mismatch of the traffic performance prediction by IHCM. The research object is the traffic characteristics of WR. Supratman Street of Bandung and Affandi Street of Yogyakarta. Vissim software was used for the analysis purpose, then the result will be compared by KAJI software, which known as the product of IHCM. It shows that KAJI predicted the higher value of traffic speed and the lower value of road capacity than Vissim. Since Vissim's model is statistically valid, it can says that KAJI is no longer suitable to predict the traffic speed and road capacity of WR. This paper covers key and representative developments in the area of high efficiency and cleans internal combustion engines. The main objective is to highlight recent efforts to improve (IC) engine fuel efficiency and combustion. Rising fuel prices and stringent emission mandates have demanded cleaner combustion and increased fuel efficiency from the IC engine. This need for increased efficiency has placed compression ignition (CI) engines in the forefront compared to spark ignition (SI) engines. However, the relatively high emission of oxides of nitrogen (NOx) and particulate matter (PM) emitted by diesel engines increases their cost and raises environmental barriers that have prevented their widespread use in certain markets.........

  • Abstract:

Zaghloul Pumping Station located at El-Moheet drainage in Kafr El Sheikh Governorate. The station consists of four axial pumping units. The operating system depends on running not more than three pumping units. The old station is replaced by new one and the old sump is reused with some modifications. Each pump takes 20 second to start and takes 300 second to reach steady state. Activation more than two units lead to decrease the suction water level, disturbance of velocity distribution in suction intake and increase vibration and noise levels. The disturbance in velocity distribution generates dynamic instability of pumping units which leads to failure, damage and other operation and maintenance difficulties. Field measurements and numerical simulation were done to investigate dynamic stability of the station..........

  • Abstract:

Solar modules are systems which convert sunlight into electricity using the physics of semiconductors. Mathematical modeling of these systems uses weather data such as irradiance and temperature as inputs. It provides the current, voltage or power as outputs, which allows plot the characteristic giving the intensity I as a function of voltage V for photovoltaic cells. In this work, we have developed a model for a diode of a Photovoltaic module under the Matlab / Simulink environment. From this model, we have plotted the characteristic curves I-V and P-V of solar cell for different values of temperature and sunlight. The validation has been done by comparing the experimental curve with power from a solar panel HORONYA 20W type with that obtained by the model.

The article presents examples of tools which can effectively contribute to, among others, better selection of machines and coordination of their performance and the mass transport stream. The following formulae can be useful in practice: the number of necessary machine units, mass flow, intake capacity of storage facilities, duration of the transport cycle, load capacity utilization rate and performance measure of means of transport (or a set of means of transport). Their use, according to the authors, will allow agricultural producers to minimise various kinds of risks which for many reasons are extremely high in this industry.

  • Abstract:

Planning and scheduling have become an essential part of any project for the timely and economical completion of the project. A proper construction schedule can be used for different purposes. By using construction schedule to predict project completion, contractors can adjust crew size, shifts or equipment to speed or slow the progress. All the construction projects will vary from each other in size. All the projects have time constraint. Delay in completion of project will increase the overall cost of the project. Small projects can be managed efficiently manually; whereas large projects are not so large projects can be better handled by the use of computers. Many types of software are available with the help of which project management can be done easily...........

  • Abstract:

In order to develop Smart Cities in India, we need to develop smart technologies and smart construction materials. Permeable concrete an innovative material is environment friendly and a smart material which can be used for construction of several structures. In India, the ground water table is decreasing at a faster rate due to reduction in ground water recharge. These days, the vegetation cover is replaced by infrastructure hence the water gets very less opportunity to infiltrate itself into the soil. If the permeable concrete which has a high porosity is used for the construction of pavements, walking tracks, parking lots, well lining, etc. then it can reduce the runoff from the site and help in the ground water recharge. Such type of smart materials will play an important role for Indian conditions where government is putting lot of efforts to implement ground water recharging techniques..............

This paper explores the interconnection of large scale Photo-Voltaic (PV) systems to the grid though a High Voltage Direct Current (HVDC) link. HVDC link is recently utilized for transmission lines longer than 50 km. It is usually utilized to interconnect two asynchronous grids with the same or different frequencies while avoiding stability disturbances greatly. A suitable Maximum Power Point Tracking (MPPT) techniques is employed to control the performance of the integrated PV system. The system of the HVDC link has two 12-pulse converter using thyristor-bridges. The delay and the extinction angles at the rectifier and the inverter units control the flow and the quantity of the transmitted power from the PV system into the grid. Fixed capacitors and filters are used to provide the AC side with the required reactive power and reduce the harmonic contents...........

  • Abstract:

In this paper, we propose a new compression technique based on transliteration of Bengali text to English. Compared to Bengali, English is a less symbolic language. Thus transliteration of Bengali text to English reduces the number of characters to be coded. Huffman coding is well known for producing optimal compression. When Huffman principal is applied on transliterated text significant performance improvement is achieved in terms of decoding speed and space requirement compared to Unicode compression.

  • Abstract:

Big data is a term for massive data sets having large, more varied and complex structure with the difficulties of storing, analyzing and visualizing for further processes or results. Bigdata includes data from email, documents, pictures, audio, video files, and other sources that do not fit into a relational database. This unstructured data brings enormous challenges to Bigdata. The process of research into massive amounts of data to reveal hidden patterns and secret correlations named as big data analytics. Therefore, big data implementations need to be analyzed and executed as accurately as possible. The proposed model structures the unstructured data from social media in a structured form so that data can be queried efficiently by using Hadoop MapReduce framework. • Influence of Ruthenium doping on Structural and Morphological Properties of MoO3 Thin Films
    S. D. Gothe, A.A.Wali, D. S. Sutrave
    [Abstract] [PDF] [Cite]
  • Abstract:

The present work examines the effect of Ru doping on MoO3 thin films on steel substrate deposited by Sol-gel spin coat method. The annealing temperature was 6000C for pure MoO3 and 8000C for Ru doped thin films. The doping concentration of Ru was varied from 10 to 50wt%. The influence of Ru doping on structural and morphological properties of MoO3 thin films were studied. The XRD revealed that all films are highly crystalline in nature with monoclinic phase for molybdenum peaks. In the doped XRD pattern some new peaks were observed and are matched with ruthenium orthorhombic phase indicating an incorporation of dopant in pure molybdenum oxide. The same is confirmed with the compositional analysis by EDAX. The SEM images of the MoO3 resemble a rod like surface with porous morphology. Incorporation of Ru ions in molybdenum oxide decreases the length of the rods and vanishes after 40wt%. Tetragonal grain size increases from 20wt% of Ru and becomes maximum at 50wt% of Ru doped thin films.

    [Abstract] [PDF] [Cite]
  • Abstract:

Ni–Al ferrite with composition of NiAlxFe2-xO4 (x=0.2, 0.4 0.6, and 0.8, ) were prepared by citrate gel method. The Dielectric Properties for all the samples were investigated at room temperature as a function of frequency. The Dielectric constant shows dispersion in the lower frequency region and remains almost constant at higher frequencies. The frequency dependence of dielectric loss tangent (tanδ) is found to be abnormal, giving a peak at certain frequency for mixed Ni-Al ferrites. A qualitative explanation is given for the composition and frequency dependence of the dielectric loss tangent.

    [Abstract] [PDF] [Cite]
  • Abstract:

Deep foundations, including driven piles, are used to support vertical loads of structures and lateral forces. Typical structures subjected to lateral loads include bridge abutments, transmission tower, sand offshore platforms. Traffic, wind, wave, and seismic forces are common types of lateral loads subjected to pile foundations. The present work is focused on understanding the lateral load capacity of vertical piles located near crest of the slope and subjected to the lateral and inclined loads. The experimental investigation was carried out to study the effect of reinforcing an earth slope on the inclined loading behavior of a single vertical pile located near the slope. Layers of geogrid were used to reinforce a sandy slope of 1V:2H. The parametric studies were performed by varying the length of pile(L), angle of inclination of load (θ), number of geogrid reinforcement (Nr) and crest distance. It was observed that the lateral load capacity of pile depends upon these parameters. The lateral load capacity of pile increases with increase in inclination of load, length of pile(L), number of geogrid reinforcement (Nr) and crest distance..

  • Abstract:

This paper presents the results of a quasi-static cyclic test carried out on a reinforced concrete special moment resisting beam in the Earthquake Engineering Center of UET Peshawar to study the efficiency of traditional repair techniques in restoring the strength and stiffness capacity of damaged RC beams. The beam was tested in a cantilever mode and was subjected to a standard loading protocol with increasing amplitude of displacement cycles. The final damage state of the beam consisted of severe cracking and spalling of the cover concrete. The cracks were repaired with low-viscosity injection epoxy and the spalled concrete was repaired with early-strength grout. The repaired specimen was subjected to the same loading protocol as the original specimen to study the efficiency of the repair technique employed. It was observed that epoxy injection is not effective in restoring the stiffness of beams due to bar slip and inelastic extension of longitudinal bars at the support end.

A fully flexible valve actuation systems are being under consideration as an enabling technology for advanced internal combustion engine concepts. Electro-hydraulic valve actuator systems are being considered as a dominating variable valve technology. Compared to the servo control system, the system using a proportional valve has the advantages of low price, high anti-pollution ability and high reliability. Unlike existing electromechanical or servo actuated electro-hydraulic valve actuation systems, precise valve motion control is achieved with an internal feedback mechanism. This feedback mechanism can be turned on or off in real-time using simple two state valves which helps reduce the system cost and enables mass production
