  • Abstract:

Thermal barrier coatings (TBCs) are widely applied in protecting metallic components, which are used in aero- and land-based gas turbines. These hot-section components include combustion chamber, blades, and vanes. The TBC leads to significant reduction of heat transfer from the high temperature gas to metal surface. As a result, with increase of operating temperature inside the gas turbines, their efficiency would be improved notably. Typically, a TBC system exhibits multilayer added structure, consisting of a bond coat and a top coat. Thermal barrier coatings are advanced materials systems usually applied to metallic surfaces operating at elevated temperatures, such as gas turbine or aero-engine parts, as a form of exhaust heat management. The ANSYS WORKBENCH is used to do the static structural & steady state thermal anlysis of the gas turbine blades and CATIA is used to develop the model of the turbine blade. CFM 56 7B series turbofan engine(B737) is considered for the study ,which consists of a 4 stage low pressure turbine and a single stage high pressure turbine.

  • Abstract:

Renewable energy is a possible choice that will optimistically guide us away from fossil fuels. Among them, Solar Photovoltaic (SPV) energy is an inevitable form of renewable energy. A DC-DC converter functions as an interface connecting SPV panels and the load for transferring maximum power. Here, the DC-DC power converter is tuned by a Maximum Power Point Tracking (MPPT) controller to exploit the solar array at a maximal power point. Frequently employed MPPT approaches namely Incremental Conductance (IC) and Perturb and Observe (P-O) provides sustainable performance under uniform atmospheric condition but the tracking gets complex under fluctuating atmospheric conditions. Here, the MPPT controller is built for the DC-DC converter utilizing Artificial Neural Network (ANN) since the method of approximation is quick, accurate, and robust. The systems were developed with Zeta and Cuk converters to provide efficient performance, and the execution is calculated.......

  • Abstract:

The Human emotions are the mental states of sentiments happen without conscious effort, and accompanied by physiological changes in facial muscles that result in facial expressions. The human-computer interaction uses nonverbal communication methods to know the emotion of a person through facial expressions, eye movement, and gestures. Besides, facial expression is a common procedure to find the mood because it transmits people's emotional states and feelings. Emotion recognition is a difficult task due to the facial patterns variety and complexity appears over face. The traditional computational methods fail to predict the emotions due to the variety and complexity of facial patterns. Therefore, machine learning methods are deployed to find better result for emotions detection. In this work, we have developed a model by using convolution neural networks, Open source computer vision, and tensorflow to detect the emotions of a person. Seven different emotions like anger, neutral, disgust, fear, happiness, sadness, and surprise are proposed by the model through the posture of mouth and eyes of a person.

Electric vehicles (EVs) rely on batteries to be the most important part of providing clean transportation. An electronic controller that monitors and manages the filling and draining of battery packs is called a Battery Management System (BMS). The modern electrified automobile requires battery tracking because the cell infrastructure is responsible for motorists' well-being, functioning, or survival. The Internet of Things (IoT) technological advances have enormous scope for use in developing and improving electrified vehicles. EVs have received considerable attention in the present time, due to their progression in cell life and low emissions. The cell's restricted capacity and the limited number of recharge or battery charging facilities are the major problems that EVs are currently experiencing. This method builds the required equipment and makes it possible to accurately predict the remaining energy using BMS.

In industry most of the electric motor load is Induction Motor (IM). IM has high performability with good degree of reliability as well as low maintenance which make it popular electric motor choice. However, it suffers from complex dynamic control architecture. IM has complex sets of non-linear equations with multivariable functionality. Also, its control has direct as well as indirect proportionality which make it difficult to design. In this paper the speed-torque characteristic of IM is designed using one very popular direct control method i.e., Direct Torque Control Method (DTCM). The simulation results are presented to study the behavior of speed under variable torque which is the result of variable loading condition. The control is so designed so as to keep the speed constant even under varying torque and vice-versa..

  • Abstract:

In this paper, a numerical simulation of flow through a configuration of sudden expansion with central restriction and blowing has been carried out. The two dimensional steady differential equations for conservation of mass and momentum are solved for blowing (B) from 0% to 10% of inlet mass flow, percentage of central restriction (CR) from 0% to 40%, Reynolds number (Re) ranging from 50 to 200 and aspect ratio (AR) from 1.5 to 6. The effects of each variable on streamline contours have been studied in detail. From the study it is observed that the configuration of sudden expansion with central restriction and blowing with higher percentage of blowing, lower percentage of central restriction and lower aspect ratio may give more benefit in terms of side wall cooling. For better mixing, lower percentage of blowing, higher percentage of central restriction, higher Reynolds number and higher aspect ratio can be considered.. • Abstract:

Solar energy is one of the most powerful sources for many sustainable applications.. The fresh water productivity depends on how efficiently the system harvests the incoming solar energy and converts it into useful heat. In this study, a Fresnel lens has been used to concentrate solar energy onto a spot to increase the local temperature of feedwater and the evaporation rate. The experimental study was conducted using saline water as the sample and desalination was carried out using the designed system. The effectiveness of solar collection is increased by the integration of Fresnel lens and copper rods. It is an Energy- efficient option because we use solar energy for the desalination of saline water. This project works on the basic principle of desalination. Thus in this project Fresnel lens is used to converge and maximize the solar energy falling on the copper plate from which the heat is conducted to the water tank through copper coil and then the steam generated is condensed. • Abstract:

These days the number of vehicles that are being used is incredibly high compared to the number of the population. The advantages that this tool gives the users comes with the need to increase its security. The locking technology in modern vehicles is called Remote Keyless System (RKS) and it is composed by two subsystems, one that is responsible for the locking/unlocking and the other responsible for the ignition. The key fob, as an integral part of the RKS generates signals to control the vehicles functionality. Even though the theft rate has decreased in the last decades, the introduction of new technology contributes to a higher risk of theft in the future. The focus of this article is the detailed analysis of the vehicle locking system: design, functionality and mostly the vulnerabilities. We will show the main methods that are currently used to attack the vehicle security using the Remote Keyless System (RKS) and what measurements we could take to prevent some of these attacks. In the end we present one of the possible techniques that can increase the vehicle security by limiting access on the communication between fobs and cars. India is an Agriculture based economy whose most of the GDP comes from farming. The motivation of this project comes from the increasing suicide rates in farmers which may be due to low harvest in crops. Climate and other environmental changes have become a major threat in the agriculture field. Machine learning is an essential approach for achieving practical and effective solutions for this problem Predicting yield of the crop from historical available data like weather, soil, rainfall parameters and historic crop yield. We achieved this using the machine learning algorithm. We did a comparative study of various machine learning algorithms, i.e., ANN, K Nearest Neighbor, Random Forest, SVM and Linear Regression and chose Random Forest Algorithm which gave an accuracy of 95%. In this project a mobile application has been developed which predicts the crop yield in general and also for a particular crop. Along with that, it also suggests the user if it is the right time to use the fertilizer or not Keyword: Agriculture, Crop, Fertilizer, yeild

The advancement of several significant technologies, such as artificial intelligence, cyber intelligence, and machine learning, has made big data penetrate the industry and academic field and our daily life and a variety of cyber-enabled applications. This article focuses on a deep correlation mining method in heterogeneous big data environments. A hierarchical hybrid network (HHN) model is constructed to describe multitype relationships among different entities. A series of measures are defined to quantify the internal correlations within one specific layer or external correlations between different layers. An intelligent router based on a deep reinforcement learning framework is designed to generate optimal actions to route across the HHN. An improved random walk with the restart-based algorithm is then developed with the intelligent router, based on the hierarchical influence across networks associated with multiple correlations..... The use of Social Networking Sitesis increasing nowadays, especially by the new generations. The availability of SNS allows users to express their interests, feelings and share daily routines. Many researchers prove that using user-generated content correctly may help determine people's mental health. Mining the UGC could help to predict mental health levels and depression. Depression is a serious mental illness. However, from the user profile, we can collect all the information that relates to a person's mood. In this research, we decided to search how users' posts can help classify users according to mental health levels. We propose a system that uses networking sites as a source of data and screening tool to classify the user using artificial intelligence according to the UGC on SNS. We created a model that classifies the UGC using two different classifiers: Support Vector Machine (SVM), Naïve Bayes, and Transformer Keyword: Analyze, Detection, Depressed, Prediction

Multiple Input Multiple Output (MIMO) in combination with Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) is of great interest for researchers and research laboratories all over the world. OFDM is widely used in contemporary communication systems for its good robustness in multipath environment, and its high spectral efficiency. The capacity of wireless system can be increased dramatically by employing Multiple Input Multiple Output, (MIMO) antennas. The combination of MIMO and OFDM system is found to be very beneficial. A major drawback of OFDM-MIMO System is its high Peak to Average Power Ratio (PAPR) Reduction. • Abstract:

The unprecedented rise in air traffic presents airports and airlines with severe challenges when it comes to runway safety. Given the enormous impact of potential accidents/incidents, the best technologies to mitigate risks involved with safe flight operations are continuously adopted by airports globally. Some of the latest technologies to address the problem are highlighted in this essay. They include infrared barriers aircraft detectors, instant runway intrusion alert systems, and runway hazard management systems. Others include jet-blast deflector fences, remotely piloted aircraft for equipment inspection, and improvements to the flight deck design alongside training and assurance on safety systems. In the interim, the recommendation is installing Runway Status Lights Systems being tested by the FAA in Long Beach, California. The system is designed to offer visible signs to approaching aircraft. Lastly, airports should construct perimeter taxiways commonly referred to as end-around taxiways to reduce the chances of collisions by enabling after access without the need to cross active runways.. Today, Unmanned aerial vehicles are employed in numerous real life applications such as aerial surveillance for agriculture, traffic monitoring and pollution control, meteorological data collection, pipeline survey, early forest fire detection, etc. These vehicles use an electronic control system and electronic sensors to stabilize the aircraft. With their compact size and agile maneuverability, these gliders are in spotlight. Two types of aircraft (UAV) wing structure namely tip dihedral and central dihedral are taken under study. The two wings are modeled and analyzed by using the software packages CATIA V5 and ANSYS respectively. Glider prototype is designed and fabricated. The parameters such as ability to control and self-stabilize were tested during flight and supported with the ANSYS analysis results. It concludes, Central dihedral wing structure vibrates at the higher frequency than the Tip dihedral, which illustrates that the Tip dihedral wing is more stable..

  • Abstract:

Lithium diobate based bismuth glasses containing erbium oxide were prepared by melt quenching technique. The density found increaseswith the increase of Bi2O3 content while the molar volume is decreased. The increase in density is directly linked with the substitution of higher molecular weight of Bi2O3 by lower Er2O3 content. The structural groups of the glass matrix were analyzed using FTIR spectroscopy. The addition of Er2O3 does not cause much to the structure of lithium diborates FT-IR spectrum revealing the absorption bands of BO3, BO4. BiO6 groups. The decrease in glass transition temperature and optical band gap energy with an increase of Bi2O3 content has been explained on the basis of an increase in the formation of non-bridging oxygen atoms in the glass network.

  • Abstract:

Asymmetric encryption is used by many applications to provide secure communication between two parties. Asymmetric encryption uses more memory and require more computation. Elliptic Curve Cryptography (ECC) is an asymmetric cryptographic technique that is widely in use on small computational devices because it has the effect of using a strong cryptographic mechanism to generate small keys. ECC is used in a variety of devices, like sensors, Internet of Things (IoT), etc., [3], to reduce power consumption and improve device performance. ECC is strong to implement for the secure communication, if the information is encoded on an Elliptic curve. Equally important is ensuring that ECC maps the message on to the elliptic curve which can be used for encryption. The goal of this work is to provide authenticated encryption for encoding message and map the message on to the curve..

An analysis is carried out to study the effects of Soret, aligned magnetic field and convective heat and mass transfer flow past an inclined magnetic field over a infinite vertical plate embedded in a porous medium in the presence of the chemical reaction, viscous and joules dissipation. The governing partial differential equations are transformed to non-linear ordinary differential equations by using the regular perturbation technique and then solved numerically by using MATLAB. The effect of various non- dimensional governing parameters on velocity, concentration profiles along skin friction coefficient and rate of mass transfer at the plate are discussed and presented through graphs and tables.

  • Abstract:

Everything from medical screening to disease outbreak detection could benefit from machine learning models trained on sensitive real-world data. And, thanks to the widespread use of mobile devices, even more detailed—and sensitive—information is becoming available. Traditional machine learning, on the other hand, involves a data pipeline that uses a central server (on-premises or in the cloud) to host the trained model and make predictions. Distributed Machine Learning (FL), on the other hand, is a method of downloading the current model and computing an updated model using local data at the device itself (a.k.a. edge computing). These locally trained models are then sent back to the central server, where they are aggregated (i.e. weights are averaged), and a single consolidated and improved global model is then sent back to the devices. The interaction of parameters and the resulting model, however, may still reveal information about the training data used. Two approaches have been used in this report to address these privacy concerns, which are based on Homographic Encryption and Secret Sharing techniques, among others. The report summarises previous research in these areas and makes recommendations for future research..
