  • Abstract:

CBR is an important parameter in assessing the strength of flexible pavement layers. Estimation of CBR values from laboratory methods are time consuming and laborious. In this aspect indirect methods play useful role in supporting the quality of estimation of CBR values. In the present study red soil samples of coarse grained nature are used in predicting compaction characteristics such as optimum moisture content and maximum dry density. These models with R2 values are in the range of 0.51 to 0.58 have obtained using grain size distribution, consistency as independent variable..

  • Abstract:

Red soils make the construction of foundations extremely difficult in its natural state. It may cause high differential movements in structures through collapse settlement on saturation. This phenomenon is primarily related to the open structure of red soils. Identifying these soils in the field can reduce the risk of distress usually reported in buildings and roads. These soils can withstand relatively high pressure without significant change in volume on drying, by wetting they are suspected with sudden reduction in volume. In this context an attempt was made on 6 red soils to relate the collapsibility behavior of the soils by considering initial water content, dry density, saturation moisture content, liquid limit, void ratios as parameters and compared with various exciting collapsibility theories..

In this paper a case study on effect of geopolymer treatment on an efflorescence affected brick masonry wall is being studied. The wall is subjected to continuous dampness due to toilet on other side, due to which salts leach out creating efflorescence and damage to painting and plaster. To rectify this various moles of sodium hydroxide were coated on each part followed by sodium silicate coating. Geopolymer treatment was finished in march2016. It is evident from the photos taken after2 years and 9 months in December 2018, that this type of geopolymer treatment of efflorescence affected walls is very effective in maintaining appearance and integrity of masonry wall..

There are different TCP variations and each one place with the different criteria. In the mobile ad hoc networks, the topology changes habitually due to mobile nodes, this leads to significant packet losses and network throughput degradation. This is because of the fact that TCP neglects to recognize the path failure and network congestion. In this paper we discuss about the congestion problem in Adhoc networks and compare the performance of two TCP variants that both work on different techniques. We describe a variant of TCP (Reno, NewReno), TCP is most widely used transport protocol in both wired and wireless networks. The monthly daily mean global solar irradiance and wind speed data of the capitals of the seven regions of the six states and various territories of Australia (Queensland, Northern Territory, South Australia, Tasmania, Victoria, Western Australia and New South Wales) are generated by the RETScreen Clean Energy Project Analysis Software produced by Natural Resources Canada. The long term continuous implementation of the system is simulated. The software HOMER produced by the National Renewable Energy Laboratory is used as a simulating tool. Their cost and emissions are compared with each other among the systems. It is found that an off-grid PV-wind-biomass HRE system is an effective way of emissions reduction and it does not increase the investment of the energy......

This study focuses on the estimation of the longitudinal force reaction in skew bridge abutments with non-rotating walls through numerical and analytical approaches. To this end,Monte Carlo analysis is conducted to develop a formula for predicting the longitudinal force capacity of skew abutments based on an extensive matrix of verified high-fidelity three-dimensional continuum finite element models. Accurate prediction of this force reaction can be quite effective in better understanding the complete cyclic behavior of skew bridge abutments, which will consequently result in efficient analysis and design of such structures..

Thin aluminum sheet has a lot of applications in automobile industry, aerospace field, shipbuilding and offshore equipment. This thin sheet of aluminum is attractive for its light weight which will safe energy especially in dragging and lifting of airplanes. Natural vibration in such application has a great important and intense, therefore, modal analysis using finite element method is carried out over a thin aluminum sheet of (100 mm ×100 mm× 2 mm). The application of these sheet may have a stress riser. Therefore, the analysis is extended to involve circular holes for or even elliptical ones. The finite element results give a little difference between the natural vibration of un-notch plate and other with circular or elliptical ones, moreover the eigenvalue and mode contours are explained..

  • Abstract:

The precipitation is the most important factor in both the climate and the hydrological cycles. The amount of rainfall in a region affects the availability of a region's water resources. The daily rainfall data for twenty eight years is used to understand normal precipitation, deficit precipitation. Rainfall records of the Yerraguntla mandal were collected for a period of 28 years (1990 to 2018). The minimum annual rainfall (422 mm) has been recorded during 2002-2003, whereas the maximum rainfall (1155mm), has been noted during 1996-97. Analysis of rainfall data helps in exploring problems related to rainfall that may be high intensity, low intensity, erratic or no rainfall. At the same time analysis of historical rainfall data in semi arid region helps in understanding issues related to drought. These estimates may act as possible pathways to and helps policymakers in understanding erratic rainfall distribution across semi arid region which is important for future planning and management strategies..

In this work Cognitive Neural Network (CNN) is used to predict the failure of hosts and initiate migration or avoid allocation to the hosts which has high probability of failures. Hosts in the data center are scored on failure probability (FP-Score) based on parameters collected at various levels using CNN. • Abstract:

In the present study a comparison between the influence of the atmospheric pressure glow discharge APGD mode and the filamentary discharge FD mode on the treatment of the wool textiles has been reported at different conditions of the current and treatment time. The induced changes in wool properties, such as the wettability, surface morphology and printability properties have been investigated. The surface characterization was performed using SEM and FTIR imaging. It has been discovered that APGD mode of DBD plasma is more efficient than FD mode. It has been found that the concentration of nitrogen excited species that are the responsible for the surface activation of the wool textile in APGD is more than its concentration in FD mode.

  • Abstract:

The right selection of building materials plays an important role when designing a building to fall within the definition of sustainable development. One of the most commonly used construction materials is concrete. Its production causes a high energy burden on the environment. Concrete is susceptible to external factors. As a result, cracks occur in the material.Achieving its durability along with the assumptions of sustainable construction means there is a need to use an environmentally friendly and effective technique of alternative crack removal in the damaged material. Bacterial self-healing concrete reduces costs in terms of detection of damage and maintenance of concrete structures, thusensuringa safe life time of the structure. Bacterial concretec an improve its durability. However, it is not currently used on an industrial scale. The high cost of the substrates used means that they are not used on an industrial scale. Many research units try to reduce production costs throughvariousmethods; however, bacterial concrete can be an effective response to sustainability.
