  • Abstract:

The most easily accessible water is surface water which exists in lakes and rivers. Patalganga is one of the most important river in its vicinity, it is solely responsible for industrial growth in that region. This growth is showing an adverse effect on its water. In this study river water was put to the test analyzed by ten parameters and correlation was performed to gauge the relation between different parameters in three seasons. Highest dependencies of parameters were observed in rainy season lower was seen in summer. Hardness Turbidity during monsoon and BOD COD during winter and summer were most crucial as they are consequentially related. This study will illuminate those parameters which can be crucial for further studies.

Majority of the work, on exposure fusion, for the HDR images, deals with approaches for fusion in the spatial domain. Exposure fusion in the transform domain has been dealt with sparsely in the literature. NSCT provides appropriate markers for identifying weak edges and fine textures, as weak edges and fine textures are lost whenever an under or an over exposure takes place and to allocate proper weights to the pixels before fusing them..

Jordan is located in arid to semi-arid areas, therefore water studies is one of the most important researches for Jordan, This study was undertaken to calculate runoff values for Al Hasa catchment area by using three different hydrological modeling methods, Time of concentration method, Curve Number method and Unit hydrogaph . Wadi al-Hasa basin or Al Hasa basin is located in the southern part of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan with a maximum length of 112.5 km from east to west and it extends for 50 km from north to south. Runoff calculation results were 88.93 MCM /year for both Time of concentration method and Unit hydrogaph method, and 48.94 MCM/year for Curve Number method. These results of the three methods are approximated and acceptable, however, time of concentration method have the highest value because it takes all ideal variables considering, and ignored external variables effects.

  • Abstract:

Mangosteen (Garcinia mangostana L.) fruit, which is extensively cultivated in Indonesia, contains considerable amounts of phenolic compounds and has antioxidant activity. However, this fruit has a fast storage period, less than 14 days in good condition. Especially when the fruit aril has been separated from its pericarp, the aril has a shelf life of several hours and eventually loses phenolic compounds and antioxidant activity. This study aimed at finding appropriate pretreatment method to maintain the phenolic content of mangosteen aril prior its preparation to mangosteen juice. Pretreatment of mangosteen aril was carried out by thermal pretreatment (steaming for 15 minutes) and chemical pretreatment (soaking in 0.2% citric acid solution for 30 minutes). The effect of pretreatment on the juice texture, total phenolic content, and antioxidant activity were investigated. The total phenolic content was determined based on the Folin-Ciocalteu colorimetric method and the antioxidant activity of the aril was analyzed by DPPH......

  • Abstract:

Free space optics is the most prominent approach in the field of communication as it offers many advantages such as small size, high bandwidth, low cost and ease of deployment. Also it has few limitations such as beam dispersion, scintillation etc. depending on weather conditions. In this paper, two free space optic links are presented, one for spatial communication, based on the OWC channel, and another one for terrestrial communication, based on the FSO channel. The performance of these models has been analyzed by measuring the values of Q-factor or bit error rates (BER) with the variation of link range, input laser power and other loss factors. It has been observed that that by using simple NRZ-OOK line coding, OWC system works better at 780 nm instead of 1550 nm channel wavelength. In contrast, FSO system performs better at 1550 nm under the practical conditions of scintillation effect, attenuation and pointing errors....

  • Abstract:

The article deals with the influence of training sample volume on the average risk of technical diagnostics. The object of diagnostics is an industrial extruder. The measurement signals used for diagnostics are the heat signals of the heating zones and the vibration signals of the bearing unit in the extruder. The first stage of the measurement signals processing is to obtain informative auto-coherence indices. The second stage is to make a logical decision on the control object status. Training samples corresponding to a priori known technical states of the control object are used to form a mathematical model of the second stage of processing. The volume of such training samples has a significant impact on the average risk (reliability) of control and diagnostics. The article shows that for a real control object (industrial extruder) there is an opportunity to optimize the training sample volume by minimizing the average risk of diagnosis.

  • Abstract:

An excessiveamount of textile wastewater containing various dyes is being discharged into the various water receiving bodies with or without any treatment every day.Collected waste cigarette buds were washed with hydrochloric acid solution to be used as an adsorbent to remove reactive dye from textile wastewater. The adsorption studies were performed as a function of different concentration of dye solution, pH, and different adsorbent doses. Equilibrium data were analyzed using Langmuir, Freundlich, and Temkinisotherm models. Based on correlation coefficient (R2) value, Langmuir model was found to be suitable. The kinetics of the adsorption process followed the pseudo-second-order kinetic model. FTIR and SEM analysis of the studied adsorbent before and after adsorption were also performed. Industrial feasibility of acid washed waste cigarette buds was performed and 98% dye removal was observed at optimum condition of pH 5.0, adsorbent dose of 20 g/L and the initial dye concentration of 100 ppm.

  • Abstract:

For stochastic time series modelling, an essential property is the underlying statistical model that is assumed to govern the number of defective parts of PCBs in a production process in the manufacturing industries in Ghana. The data points were assumed to exhibit Markov dependency with respective state transition probabilities matrices following the identified state space (i.e. increase, decrease or remain the same). We established a methodology for determining whether the daily number of defective parts increase, decrease or remained the same. A criterion for identifying the state(s) in which production of PCBs is cost effective based on least transition probabilities was also applied. The results showed that it was cost effective when productions are done in the first and second states since at these.

  • Abstract:

This paper presents improvement in the design of a gear drive bucket elevator by introducing a ratchet mechanism which holds the chain links and buckets in position when there is a failure in order to prevent them from damage and also addresses the difficulty in joining the chain links together. The main function of the ratchet mechanism is to ensure that the chain is prevented from dropping to the bottom when there is a failure. The ratchet, basically, is made up of toothed wheel (sprocket/spur gear), a pawl/lever, and a spring. The calculations involve the design of the beam, pawl and the spring. As the ratchet mechanism will help prevent the chain together with the bucket from dropping to the bottom whenever there is failure, it will help reduce downtime leading to an increase in production. The mechanism will also prevent damage to buckets and chain links leading to reduction in maintenance cost..

  • Abstract:

In the present life, Phase locked loop (PLL) have turned out to be universal in modern communication systems. Voltage controlled oscillator (VCO) is the most essential part in radio frequency systems. This paper presents a comparative review of Ring VCO and LC-VCO in PLL on the premise of their performances with respect to different criteria. The ultra-fast wire line application use LC-VCO because of their more extensive tuning range since the DC-levels of the two yields in LC-VCO are roughly 50% of the supply voltage. Based on the study it was discovered that LC-VCOs are the most important part utilized in superior RF frameworks because of their ultra-low phase noise and power dissipation than Ring VCO. Further different trade – offs of the two VCOs are likewise looked at....

  • Abstract:

Navier-Stokes fractional equations can describe different movement states and explain regime changes and manifest them in Blasius exponents. In particular, in this paper, alpha-viscosity is related to eddy-viscosity and a generalization of the frictional stress is formulated in terms of the movement regime and the spatial occupancy index 𝜷. A methodology based on the wave analysis of the hydrograph is also presented, a process in which the wave velocity is determined, it is adjusted with the water profile slope due the regime change, and the real discharge is obtained, which is determined from its quotient with the measured discharge, while the latter is described according to Manning's model. This methodology was used in the estimation of the hydrograph for Carrizal River, Tabasco, Mexico. Authors concluded that Blasius exponent with values between 𝟎 < 𝜽 < 2 improves the representation of the traditional model determined by means of the water depth - discharge curve. Results obtained suggest a revision of water depth - discharge curves (𝒉 − 𝑸) of hydrometric stations in order to obtain values closer to reality.

Diseases of udder and teat result in heavy losses to the dairy farmer and leads to reduction in milk production, drastic decrease in production, permanent damage to the udder or death in severe cases. Pure exotic breeds are highly susceptible followed by crossbred animals, while buffalos are least affected. The lower susceptibility of local breeds is basically due to its better immunity levels and low production. Preventing the occurrence of different udder diseases would therefore play a pivotal role in making milk business profitable. A proper understanding of the diseases will go a long way in reducing the incidence at the farmer's homestead..

  • Abstract:

There is no single forecast that can satisfy all of the needs of utility. A common practice is to use different forecasts for different purposes. With so many applications, it is unrealistic to establish a forecasting problem for each application. Therefore, we have to take a scientific approach to classifying the load forecasting problems. The classification of various forecasts not only depends upon the business needs of utilities, but also on other factors that drive the electricity consumption. Data was collected from the utility main-substation in Warri a city in Delta State, Nigeria with transformer rating: 2 x 15 MVA, with HV/LV of 33/11kV. These data were obtained from the log of daily recordings. These data collected were processed by using Excel Tools and Analysis ToolPak for over a year. The data obtained was observed that the oil and winding temperatures are almost constant as there are variations in the IN_loads and OUT_loads data for transformers 1 and 2. Forecasting of power transformer reliability or more accurately forecasting power transformer failure probability presents a predictive model..

The blocking voltage stresses with higher harmonic distortion are the main limitations of conventional two level converters in high power & voltage applications for power quality improvement. The multilevel converters have come up as solutions to above problems with basic concept of cascaded connections for power semiconductor switches with several lower voltages of dc sources to obtain waveform more close to sinusoidal. In this article a three level converter of NPC topology along with SVPWM has been simulated and the results have been compared with two level converter. Although the NPC structure can be extended to higher number of levels, these are less attractive, because of higher losses and uneven distribution of losses in the outer and inner devices [1]..

The purpose of this article is to explore the application potential of blockchain technology to support quality provenance tracking system for the verification of informal water markets' product quality. Due to lack of traceability system in the informal water market, consumers lack trust in their products and end up investing heavily in quality improvement schemes at the expense of high cost both in the healthcare front and water environment's. A scoping review method from the existing blockchain provenance tracking literature is deployed. The result shows that blockchain technology is capable of hosting an informal water quality data tracking (provenance) system borrowing from the practice in supply chain sector according to (Tian, 2017).The article contributes to the possibility of expanding the application of the emerging technology; blockchain in the domestic water supply sector.

  • Abstract:

According to the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, global temperatures are expected to increase 1.1 to 6.4°C during the 21st century, and precipitation patterns will be altered by climate change. Soils are intricately linked to the atmospheric–climate system through the carbon, nitrogen, and hydrologic cycles.(1) Altered climate will, therefore, have an effect on soil processes and properties, and at the same time, the soils themselves will have an effect on climate. Study of the effects of climate change on soil processes and properties is still nascent, but has revealed that climate change will impact soil organic matter dynamics, including soil organisms and the multiple soil properties that are tied to organic matter, soil water, and soil erosion. The exact direction and magnitude of those impacts will be dependent on the amount of change in atmospheric gases, temperature, and precipitation amounts and patterns.(2) Recent studies give reason to believe at least some soils may become net sources of atmospheric carbon as temperatures rise and that this is particularly true of high latitude regions with......
