Abstract:
With the aim of investigating a laser-welded dissimilar joint of TWIP and TRIP steel sheets, the microstructure was characterized by means of OM, SEM, and EBSD to differentiate the fusion zone, heat-affected zone, and the base material. OIM was used to differentiate between ferritic, bainitic, and martensitic structures. Compositions were measured by means of optical emission spectrometry and EDX to evaluate the effect of manganese segregation. Microhardness measurements and tensile tests were performed to evaluate the mechanical properties of the joint. Residual stresses and XRD phase quantification were used to characterize the weld. Grain coarsening and martensitic areas were found in the fusion zone, and they had significant effects on the mechanical properties of the weld. The heat-affected zone of the TRIP steel and the corresponding base material showed considerable differences in the microstructure andProperties..

Abstract:
The aim of this paper is to provide and analysis and an assessment of road safety in Kuwait and to assess the level of car accidents in the state. The paper presents a brief literature review on the relevant studies in the filed. The study itself includes a questionnaire design that has been piloted then data was collected in 2013. The study then reports on the findings of the study. A total of 700 questionnaires were distributed. Response rate was very good. About 65% return rate was achieved with a total of 427 questionnaire returned. The main results of the study show that socio economic characteristics, attitudinal characteristics and behavioral characteristics affect the , attitudes and work commitment factors all contribute to the performance of road users on the Kuwait's roads that may lead to accidents occuring.

Abstract:
An activated carbon adsorber was designed using the scale-up approach for packed column design. The design
parameters were used in the fabrication of the activated carbon adsorber. Three tests were carried out with the
fabricated activated carbon adsorber on a given borehole water and system filtered water containing some
impurities that has resulted to bad taste, odour, turbidity and colour to test run the efficiency of the adsorber.
The results showed that the carbon adsorber performed relatively well in removing the bad taste, odour,
turbidity, color and iron..

Abstract:
This paper discusses the Sinusoidal Power Factor model, which is used in the electrical networks to get high
efficiency and a low cost. There are several reasons that are very beneficial for improving the power factor.
Some of these are economical and others are technical. For the technical reasons, power factor correction can
help to reduce the voltage drop that is produced in underground cables or overhead lines at the transmission or
distribution level. Also, it can reduce the load on electrical equipment which provides more capacity for
equipment and can result in less copper loss. The economical side for power factor correction is represented by
the reduction of the consumed power by compensating the reactive power and the decline of electric bills that
are paid by customers. The excessive reactive power can be used in suppling inductive loads such air-condition
and huge motors in factories.....

Abstract:
The surge in the global demand for energy has mandated numerous research to be carried out and still being carried out to find more efficient means of energy generation, management, and control of energy-consuming devices. This paper presents the design and construction of a microcontroller-based power outlet for energy monitoring and control with a mobile interface. This system is used in managing and controlling the consumption of energy in residential and non-residential houses. The characteristics components include a local embedded system, and a mobile application from which the user can set energy budget, and time when the system is required to switch off control to an outlet. The value of the energy budget is used by the system to ensure that supply is turned off immediately the budget is exhausted. Energy consumption data are also logged for the user in case of future references and analysis. The system was tested and results gotten were recorded. The system, if efficiently optimized could be used as a power scheduling system to manage major appliances for automatic and intelligent control..

Abstract:
Decimal floating point (DFP) arithmetic is important in various applications such as currency conversion, billing, insurance, banking etc., as it is able to produce precise decimal fractions and minimize manual calculations that perform decimal rounding. But binary floating-point arithmetic fails to provide correct decimal rounding and exact decimal fractions such as 0.10,0.0418. A multiplier is one of the main components in most digital and high-performance systems such as digital signal processors, microprocessors and Finite Impulse Response (FIR) filters etc. As technology advances, many scientists have tried and are trying to design multipliers which provide either of the following- high speed, low power consumption and hence less area or even combination of them in multiplier.....

Abstract:
Agriculture is very important sector and automatic disease detection has been essential part of agriculture
research. Numerous methods have been discovered for various plant disease detection. This paper illustrates
remote tomato disease detection and pesticide spraying using convolutional neural network with slight variation
in LeNet model. The image which is captured by camera will be used for further processing. Raspberry Pi is
used as controlling device. The neural network model will automatically extract the feature and will find the
disease class from the trained dataset. Afterdetection of disease, the system will provide solution in the form of
pesticide spraying and will move forward to monitor the next plant..

Abstract:
The optimal tracking problem of descriptor time-varying continuous-time systems is studied.
First, under the assumption of impulse controllability, it is shown that the original system can be converted to a
reduced-order normal linear time-varying system and an algebraic constraint by the pre-feedback technique and
the restricted system equivalent (r.s.e) approach. Second, the state augmentation technique is applied to
construct an augmented system, in which the state vector consists of tracking error, auxiliary input (appearing in
pre-feedback), the state, and its derivative of the normal system. This procedure transforms the tracking control
problem into an optimal regulation problem of the augmented system. Third, by utilizing the related results of
preview control theory, a controller for the augmented system is presented through letting preview length tend to
zero. Meanwhile, a controller to solve the original problem is also derived from the controller for the augmented
system. Finally, two sorts of numerical simulation methods are proposed for the time-varying descriptor
continuous-time systems, which have been demonstrated to be effective by various examples..

Abstract:
Gas turbines are used for power generation, Brayton cycle is the basic cycle for gas turbine operation and
developing the alternative cycles, The regenerative Brayton cycle is a developed cycle for the basic Brayton
cycle with higher thermal efficiency at low to moderate pressure ratios. In this paper, the performance of a
Regenerative Brayton Cycle at varies ambient temperatures were computationally evaluated in terms of thermal
efficiency, net power, and specific fuel consumption. The analysis was performed with utilized input values
such as pressure ratio, regenerator effectiveness, and turbine inlet temperature, the results show that the thermal
efficiency and output power increase with ambient temperature decrease while the specific fuel consumption
increase with ambient temperature increase
