Abstract:
Providing undergraduates with the best and most effective teaching methods has always been a concern. Therefore, over the years several devices and new learning technologies have been introduced into the classroom. Thus, to seek innovations in teaching, clickers, or personal response systems, were used in a chemical engineering undergraduate course, specifically in the electrochemistry and corrosion class, at the University of Campinas, Brazil. In the end of the course, the students answered a questionnaire about the satisfaction and effectiveness of their use in the classroom. The responses were analysed and a greater acceptance and effectiveness were reported by students..

Abstract:
This project work deals with study of various joints such as Bonded, Riveted & Hybrid used in aircraft body, made up of composite materials like Carbon fiber reinforcement polymer (CFRP), Glass fiber reinforcement polymer (GFRP), Sisal fiber and the combination of above three. Based on the outcome of the Stress, Strain and Deformation analysis using ANSYS 16.0 the opt composite material is to be selected for further study. Then a sample composite laminate is to be manufactured according to the ASTM standards. In addition, mechanical properties are to be analyzed for confirm whether it is matching with the design requirements. The objective of this project was to study the joints used in aircraft structure by introducing a natural fiber called Sisal. From the analysis and experimental study, the best suitable composite material for the aircraft structure is recommended as the combination of Glass fiber, Carbon fiber and Sisal..

Abstract:
To summarize, there are basic functions / techniques that have been implemented to ensure that the prototype is used to achieve its primary objectives of reducing the rates of false alarms and their sub-targets being shipped and making fire detection devices "smart". They are as follows: 1. Use of smoke, temperature and light intensity as fire detection parameters. 2. Use GSM instead of Wi-Fi to send text notifications.

Abstract:
Concrete is one of the most widely used construction materials for several structures such as buildings, homes, dams, roads, and bridges. Concrete performance is generally based on the mix design, material properties in the mixture, curing conditions, and environmental conditions during the service life of the structure. Cracking and spalling of concrete are the most common damage caused by expansion of the cement paste matrix under the effect of freeze-thaw cycles. The purpose of this paper is to explore the feasibility of use of high strength concrete in cold weather environments and assess its durability in that environment both with and without entrained air. The development and subsequent widespread use of high range water reducing admixtures or superplasticizers has ensured..........

Abstract:
The Flywheel Energy Storage System (FESS) is a new storage technology and has many advantages over traditional energy storage methods. In this paper, we present an integrated solution of FESS with solar power systems working in micro-grids to improve the quality of solar power supplied to the grid. The results of modeling and simulation on Matlab - Simulink software have shown that the solar power system integrated FESS can overcome the energy fluctuations of solar power to provide a less changing energy for the grid..

Abstract:
Flash memory is an electronic (solid-state) non-volatile computer memory storage medium that can be electrically erased and reprogrammed. The two main types of flash memory are named after the NAND and NOR logic gates. The individual flash memory cells, consisting of floating-gate MOSFETs (floating-gate metal-oxide-semiconductor field-effect transistors), exhibit internal characteristics similar to those of the corresponding gates. Flash memory is small size, lightweight, shock-resistant, nonvolatile, and consumes little power. Flash memory therefore shows promise for use in storage devices for consumer electronics, mobile computers, wireless devices and embedded systems. However, flash memory cannot be overwritten unless erased in advance. Erase operations are slow that usually decrease system performance and consume power. The number........

Abstract:
Solar energy is becoming an alternative for the limited fossil fuel resources. One of the simplest and most direct applications of this energy is conversion of solar radiation into heat, which can be used in water heating systems. A commonly used solar collector is the flat-plate. A lot of research has been conducted in order to analyze the flat-plate operation and improve its efficiency. Thermal energy storage has always been one of the most critical components in residential solar water heating applications. However, the energy source and the demands of a house (or building) in general, do not match each other especially in solar water heating applications. So thermal energy storage is essential in the solar heating.....
